If you would like to contact me directly in advance of submitting your Ph.D. application to the NYU Biology Department – please send me your cv and a cover letter describing your research experience and interest, and we can arrange to talk by phone or Skype.
To be accepted to the NYU Biology Ph.D. program, you need apply for admission to the NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS), and designate the NYU Biology Department. In your application, you should also designate several faculty whose research programs interest you. These applications are reviewed by an NYU Biology graduate admissions committee, and are judged based on grades, GREs, TOFEL, research experience and letters of recommendation. The deadline for applications to NYU GSAS program in Biology is Dec. 1, for admission in Fall of the following year. Finalists are selected for on-site interviews at NYU, prior to an admission decision. If you apply to our PhD Program at NYU Biology, and are admitted, during Year 1 you must perform three lab rotations. After these lab rotations are completed, you then choose a lab for your Ph.D. based on the mutual interest and consent of a faculty advisor.
